No wheel studs on 2023 Taos?

So I'd thought I'd rotate the tires on my 2023 Taos. First attempt since I've been taking it to the dealer to work on this before but I thought I should be able to manage by now. I'm a bit surprised and confused though because I just noticed they have no studs?? Every other car I've worked on has them, but my Taos just has holes and I have to balance the wheel while trying to get the lug bolts in. Is this normal for VWs? Any tips or tricks to make this easier? It was a major pain but I'm hoping to still do this by myself later on. Thanks for your ideas in advance!

Get a wheel hanger tool also called a wheel alignment pin. You screw it into one of the bolt holes first, then slide the wheel on and it holds everything in place while you install the other bolts.

Yes, that's normal, many newer VWs, including the Taos, use lug bolts instead of studs, so the wheel doesnt stay in place on its own. A common trick is to have a friend help hold the wheel while you start a couple of bolts by hand, or use one bolt partway threaded to hold the wheel while you line up the others. It takes a bit of patience, but its doable solo once you get the hang of it
