Trade my Taos?

So the family's old Taos has been here a while and it's had a rough ride... Side to side check engine lights before but it's running smooth now. Little to no issues lately. I've been thinking of trading my Taos now before it gets back to being... weird. I wanna give this to my younger sister but part of me wonders if I'm just setting her up for headaches late. Like should I just trade it while it's behaving? Anyone else gone through this kind of decision?

I'd lean toward trading if resale is decent and you've lost confidence in long term reliability. If your sister's OK with the risk and has a repair fund set aside, it could still make sense to keep it in the family. Has the dealer offered a buyout or value estimate yet?

Maybe have a mechanic check it first to be sure before making any decisions. If it's still good and not much of repairs are needed then I guess, it's not a bad idea to pass it to your sis
