VW put the remote start receiver where?!

I got my windshield replaced and noticed the remote start receiver is placed right at the top, near the rearview mirror. I thought that was interesting but didn't think much of it at the time, it feels like a strange placement

That's actually a pretty common, and I think it's smart!, spot for remote start receivers, especially aftermarket ones, and sometimes even factory ones if they're trying to optimize signal

yeah it makes sense that placing it near the rearview mirror helps with signal strength, I guess it's a clever way to keep it hidden but effective at the same time
