Low coolant problem

My friend got this problem with her 23 Taos SEL, it almost reached 50K miles. She brought her VW to the dealership twice for low coolant, they found a leak and replaced the head gasket
She's worried now, would it feel different after the replacement, anyone have a clue?

I had a similar issue with my car after a head gasket replacement. It felt a bit smoother and the temperature stayed normal. Your friend's Taos should run fine if the repair was done well. Tell her to keep an eye on the coolant level for a while just to be safe.

If the head gasket was replaced properly, it shouldn't feel much different though the main thing is that the coolant issue should be gone. If things still feel off, maybe keep an eye on coolant levels and engine behavior

It's normal to be worried. But the head gasket should be replaced properly if the dealer dealt with it anyway. Agree with both @InfernoVortex @ahungrydude, advise her to just take note of some things with proper documentation so you'll be able to give proof to the dealership in case something is off.

That's great advice, and I'm on board with it. Assuming the dealershp got it right, it should be solid. Still, keeping an eye out for anythin weird and writing it down is smart. It just makes you feel better, and having records is always a plus
