Least reliable car?

So, I read that Volkswagen Taos is ranked among the least reliable cars of February. I have had my 2022 Taos SEL 4MOTION for a few years now, and never have I encountered issues that would make me feel like "sigh, this is such a waste." This being in the top list is so sad! That comes from consumer reports and I am a consumer, too, I don't get why. I only got like 23K miles on it, but I still don't get it. Any big issues you encountered that can change my mind? Are any of you planning to switch from it soon?

Yeah ive witnessed such reports and i really dont understand the ratings. but think about it, the source is from CR, and not all consumers have the same care for their cars. I own a taos and it never disappointed me one bit, took care of her every single day. i dont wait til any issue worsens, if i feel something odd, I make sure to tend to it right away.

YES EXACTLY. There's probably a reason why they don't like theirs. That reason is: they don't take care of it! That's the only reason I can think of. That's what I do, too, like you I make sure any issue is fixed quickly. But I haven't even gotten a lot of issues yet. So, there's that.

I'm sure it's not general. Those kinds of lists usually aren't surveyed accurately. they are just taken from the experiences of a few people. I wouldn't worry about it

Haha wow, I saw that too and was like, really? cos my 2022 sel 4motion has been a total champ, smooth rides, no drama. 23K miles here too and it's still fun to drive, I haven't had any of the horror stories I've heard about, so maybe it's luck or maybe people just like to complain more when something goes wrong

can you give us some more info on this claim? I mean i know a few people who drive a taos and none of them complained about any issues

I agree, bcs I'm looking at my own experience. and my Taos has been great so far

Me too! I have a 2022 Taos 4MOTION. Just went over 20,000 miles, and it's still great. No problems, and I'm happy with it. Like others have said, those rankings often come from folks who don't maintain their cars or only write reviews when they have a problem. I'm glad yours is working out for you, too
