Getting started with DIY work on my 2022 Taos

This is the closest where I can post, I guess. Got a used 2022 Volkswagen Taos SE and I want to start doing basic jobs like oil changes and cabin filter swaps. Is there a budget friendly torx and ratchet set that handles most of the trim and underbody panels?

Nice pickup! For budget-friendly tools, a 46-piece drive set like the ones from Evalm or eBay can cover most trim and underbody jobs. Just make sure it includes Torx bits and a decent ratchet. Also, VW uses triple square bits in a few spots, so try grabbing a small set of those too!a

Thank you for the tool set idea. I wouldn't have known about needing triple square bits. Are there a few standard triple square sizes I should get for basic maintenance?

People overspend on automotive tool kits when a basic Harbor Freight or Amazon ratchet set with a decent torx bit collection handles 90% of VW work. You don't need Snap-On for oil changes and filter, that's just paying for a brand name

Good confirmation on sticking with a budget friendly tool set for now. I'm still trying to determine which specific triple square bits I'll need for common jobs. If anyone knows the sizes used for basic maintenance items on these cars, I'd be interested in learning.
