I was in love with this car instantly when I looked at the design, I bought a red 2024 Volkswagon Taos but already has issues with the squicking brake. Had an inspection last month, but the mechanic said that it's what volkswagon does. unbelievable, the car is not even 5000 miles yet, can someone tell me, is this really normal?

I've heard VW brakes can be a bit noisy, but it's crazy that a 2024 with less than 5K miles is already squeaking. Some say it's just the type of brake pads they use, especially when cold or in humid conditions, but still, it shouldn't be that bad. Do you have any idea if the mechanic checked the pads and rotors ? I'd be annoyed too if I got told "that's how it is." you should probably get a second opinion if it doesn't go away.

Thanks for your comment. yeah it's sucks. I'm thinking about pressing the brake issue to the VW service dept next month

You're not alone, many owners report squeaky brakes on the taos, especially with the newer models. It's usually due to the brake pad material or tuning.

Still congrats on getting your Taos. What's the update on your "pressing"? Any big changes yet?

idk man, mine isn't squeaking when it was on the 5K miles, even now it's fine. I think you need a second opinion
