2022 VW taos door lock trouble

New girlfriend got this car and im just wondering can you lock the doors from the inside after turning off the engine and all? this kinda my first time to drive a modern car lol im guessing this is another safety feature

so you want to lock it with the fob? that's a no and its for safety reasons because if that's doable you'll be activating the alarm and it wil go off. on the other hand, you can lock them with the button on the driver side door

yeah @BugsBunny1 is making a lot of sense, you have to use the outside button and its all for your safety to avoid locking yourself out, its the "modern car logic"

Anyway, modern cars will automatically unlock itself if you have the key fob and you're near the car. Besides, why would you want to lock your door from the inside after killing the engine?
